I loved this bride and groom. Stacey had the nicest disposition. She’d lost about 2 stone for the wedding; or it seemed like that from the engagement shoot; she was stunning and skinny on her wedding day; truly did a great job in getting a few pounds off and it showed.
Adrian was one of those grooms who was calm, sweet and charming; he was gracious and helpful and polite. They were married in August at Southdowns Manor, in Trotton, a very popular new venue in Hampshire. I enjoy being a wedding photographer at this venue; it’s easy and the staff are really friendly and warm.
As I said, the bridesmaids were wonderful; graceful, helpful with one really funny one. There’s always one really funny one. Anyway, thanks girls for being amazing. You would not believe the visions I see and the comments I hear from selfish, vain bridesmaids; so great job.
Adrian’s Romanian family came in droves and I’m not sure what it is, but Eastern European wedding guests are always immensely happy, smiley and just out for a good time. This was evident on the dance floor. I also loved the crying mummy and the grandmother outside on the chair. I was so happy to do some big group photos for them all … as it is hard to get a family together when you are in the same country most of the time!
Stacey’s mum was so funny in the morning; we all agreed a large glass of bubbly was needed as the emotions ran high; TIP: make sure you’ve got lots of booze in the room; running out can be disasterous. I helped with the dress threadling but mum did an amazing job.
The day was a little windy but we managed to get outside. Doing a group shot outside immediately helps getting everyone outside.
Their theme was orange! And Sally from Nursery Fresh did an amazing job. The ceremony room flowers, bouquets and centre pieces were stunning and really popped.
The rain held off for a while, but kept coming back and threatening so a few times we ran inside but for the most part, it was outside.
Southdowns Manor is beautiful and has so many places for a photograph to take pictures. Stace & Adrian had had an engagement shoot; so they were phased by the 15 minutes of romantic shots.
Adrian’s speech and slide show of photos of their relationship was wonderful and made Stacey cry … and the cake! Well, the cake had fallen apart, but by the time we cut that, nobody cared at all. They still ate it and it was so cute with a penguin couple on top.
The orange lighting made for a fantastic dance floor. Adrian danced with his Romanian Grandmother which was so cute.
All the Romanian family got changed for the evening into ball gowns which I loved!
Well done guys; you were amazing on the day and I really enjoyed photographing your wedding.
