Selden Barn at Old Selden Farm is the most beautiful setting for your wedding being located in over fifty acres of woods and surrounding fields. It is in an area of outstanding natural beauty within the South Downs National Park.
LocationAs you approach the farm down a quiet country lane, you will be greeted with a selection of Sussex flint and brick barns and houses. You enter through the iron gates and the drive winds around to the main barn with its formal gardens to the west which is bounded with flint and brick walls. This area can be used for a drinks reception and also provides a natural photographic setting to capture those memorable images of your special day.
The Reception BarnAs soon as you enter the barn, you are hit by the “Wow Factor”. All along one side are windows overlooking the rolling fields and woodland looking east across the fields and hedgerows towards the village of Patching. Large chandeliers hang above the Pleated Ivory linings that drape the barn. The interior can be arranged with tables and chairs to comfortably seat seventy. It can also be rearranged with more tables and chairs to seat a maximum of 230. All tables and chairs in the barn are supplied within the venue price. The striking raised dance floor area together with the vintage mahogany bar and relaxed seating area all help to produce an ambience like no other. With controllable lighting and up lighters around the walls and on the pillars the mood and atmosphere of the room can be changed as the day turns into the evening.
The Ceremony RoomJust one minute’s walk from the Reception Barn, you find the beautiful old Ceremony Room, located in a converted barn adjoining the main house. Seating up to 100 people, the Ceremony Room features timber rafters under a tiled roof. Our Licence for Weddings and Civil Ceremonies lets you add an additional intimate memory to your wedding.
