WEDDING WARNING: Get a make up artist! 100% You will be slightly mental on your wedding morning; no matter how cool you are. I have had two brides now in tears as they’d bought makeup to put on themselves but didn’t really know or remember what the lady in the shop said. Fearing a professional artist would leave them too “made up”, they bought it to do themselves. Thankfully, both times, myself and the bridesmaids I winged it and they both looked great. However, this could have ended up another way. There are lots of make up artists who will give you a subtle, natural look without packing on red lipstick and dark grey eye shadow. I did enjoy it though; my mother would be proud!
As I say to all my Brides, your photographs and the images from that day are all you will have to remember the wedding by. The venue is gone, the cake eaten, the dress packed in a box. So always invest in the best photographer you can and then invest in an experienced bridal hairdresser & make up artist. They have the experience to keep you looking like you, natural, but the red carpet version of you.
Have a trial of make up – take in pictures – take in make up – take in colours. Tell the make up artist exactly what you want! Make up Artists who have impressed me thus far are: Naomi from Nay Nays in Worthing; Kim at The Beauty Shed in Portsmouth and ID Make up in Chichester.http://www.the-id.co.uk
